Integrative Biopsychosocial Research in Population Health

Trainees Margarete Wichmann Margarete Wichmann is a PhD student in the Population Health Sciences Graduate Program. She received her BA in General Science – Biology from Grinnell College in 2005. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a calibration technician at a biotechnology corporation. Currently, she is assisting in data collection for the Newborn Lung Project Statewide Cohort Study and an ancillary study, the Stress in Mothers in the Newborn Lung Project Statewide Cohort Study. Her broad research interests include maternal and child health and mental health, family dynamics related to illness and stress, and the biological mechanisms underlying these relationships. More specifically, she is presently concentrating on antepartum mental health problems and their impact on pregnancy outcomes, health care utilization and expenditures, and postpartum mental health problems. |
